Joel & Leslie Levitz
Joel was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. After studying at Yeshiva University, Joel served in the National Guard, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He owned Duchess-Stratford, a successful restaurant business, for over 40 years, until his retirement several years ago. Joel has served on numerous local and community boards both in the Bridgeport area and in Milford, including Hillel Academy, Congregation Ahavath Achim, Inland Wetland Commission, Fire Commissioner, and presently serves as the president of the Hebrew Congregation of Woodmont-Chabad, a position he has proudly held for the past 10 years. He was instrumental in bringing Chabad of Milford into partnership with the Hebrew Cong. of Woodmont. Leslie grew up in Bridgeport, and she married Joel in 1968. Leslie has had a busy career as the owner of an accessories boutique, including manufacturing women’s scarves, while volunteering her time at several local institutions, including Hadassah, JCC of Bridgeport, and Jewish Home for the Elderly. They are the proud parents of Adam & Elicia and adore their six grandchildren.
